Rangoli designing is very important activity practiced on any festival and celebration across the India. It is the art of painting the doorsteps, veranda and front of house using rice powder, stone color and flowers.

It is known as different names in different parts of India. Uttarakhand or Uttaranchal, a well known beautiful state of northern India for their natural beauty, is also famous for its design and called as “Aipan”.

The “Aipan” rangoli art is associated with lots of social, cultural as well as religious significance. Aipan designs are mainly applied at places of worship, along with the main entry door and the front courtyard of the house.
